I've...got an idea.

I thought about fixing my transmission in my car but it would be too complicated to do without a lift. It is a 1994 Mercedes C280 and from what I hear, they can be pretty tricky to work on. This made me think of a business. Why not have a nice place where you could rent out car lifts and tools to customers, so that they can have the luxury of using a lift? I thought about this for sometime, but came to the conclusion that it is not possible, simply because of the cost of all the tools (Snap-on preferably) and how to make a profit. Most of the customers would only be able to work on their cars on the weekends, so there would be a lot business on the weekends but hardly any on the weekdays. The cost of renting the bay would have to be so high that customers would almost be better off taking it to a shop to get it fixed. The only way that I could see this possibly working is if no tools were offered, but no one would want to bring their own tools with them, it almost makes it not worth it. Another idea is to offer paint booths for customers to paint their cars in. I am trying to find a way to make something like this work. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. By the way, this business idea is up for grabs and I would like to see it work somehow, so go ahead, steal it.
